When I am gone

If memories of me

Haunt you

In the middle of the night,

or on a sunny day

As you walk alone in a park, or by the bay

Water the roses, or simply pray

Read these words

And be assured

From somewhere, unseen

I love you still

When I lived

I loved you – imperfectly, I know

I could not be what you wished

But my love was like the deepest sea

and as the lashings and the storms rose and fell

The sea stayed deep

From somewhere, unseen

I love you still,

But if you doubt me

Go to the sea

And there you will see

How much I love thee.
